Evesham itself is full of historic architecture and there are numerous walks that revisit the important places during the battle of Evesham 1265 and the Almonry Museum. Horse racing at Stratford, Cheltenham and Towcester. Polo at Kirtlington and Cirencester.
Evesham, roughly equidistant between Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon, was originally built within a loop of the River Avon which flows through the Vale of Evesham.
The Vale is known for fruit growing and market gardening due to its unusually fertile soil which means it is one of the country’s most well known production centres for fruit and vegetables. The Vale of Evesham at its height was second only to Kent as the Garden on England.
From the tranquil banks of the river Avon to the undulating hills and peaceful wooded slopes of the Cotswolds, the Vale offers some of the prettiest countryside in the United Kingdom.
A major attraction is the River Avon, with very popular recreational areas offering something for everyone from fishing to walking to boating.
Abbey Park with its Victorian bandstand offers you music on Sunday afternoons from June to September, where you can sit back and soak in the tranquil atmosphere of a lazy sunny afternoon.
The pub at the moment is split into two areas, a main bar, and a sports bar. Outside there is a large front garden and a large walled garden to the rear of the property.
Fully equipped kitchen, traditionally furnished throughout, with many original features remaining, including two large open fireplaces and providing a seating area for around 40 people in the main bar and at least 50 people in the sports bar/function room.
Predominantly laid to lawn with herbaceous boarders and beds. Large parking area able to accommodate coaches and cars. Potential to develop the catering operation through the variety of food served.
