Welcome the New Year with Hooky’s Double Stout

Hook Norton launches its first 2009 seasonal beer

Double Stout pump clipHook Norton announces the return to pubs in the New Year of its seasonal favourite Double Stout. The 4.8 percent ABV beer is a smooth, full-bodied stout with a refreshing hoppy aftertaste. A blend of dark malts gives Double Stout a character all of its own.

Black malt enriches the colour and teases the palate with an unmistakable toast flavour. Brown malt gives the beer its satisfying dryness. Hook Norton Managing Director James Clarke said: “Brewed to a recipe that is a hundred years old, Double Stout is said to have turned even lager drinkers to the true delights of craft brewed real ale.”

Double Stout is available in pubs until the end of February and in bottles all year round. Drawing on its 150 years of brewing heritage Hook Norton has come up with a spectacular list of 11 seasonal beers for 2009, in addition to its regular brews.

In March look out for First Light, a very pale, light brew with a complex hop aroma.
April sees the return of 303AD – brewed to commemorate the death of England’s St George.
