Hook Norton on the Frontline

Most of us like a drink of beer after a hard day at work. Tim Badham is no different from the rest of us – other than he is a Lieutenant serving with the Light Dragoons in Helmand province in Afghanistan. He has his god father, Mike Westwood to thank for the fact that when it comes to a bit of rest and recreation he can enjoy a Hook Norton beer.

Mike Westwood said: “For Christmas I bought a couple of crates of Twelve Days from the brewery and sent some out to Tim. I thought it would be a perfect present for him. The photo was taken in Helmand province with Tim sitting on his Scimitar armoured reconnaisance vehicle which is being put to great use out there. They have been operating on long range desert patrols since October.

They tend to spend a few days at high intensity then have a day off to repair broken vehicles and chill out, making the most of goodies sent by friends and family. Before that, Tim was patrolling the desert west of Basra in Southern Iraq.”
