Old Hooky stars at le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons
When superstar chef Raymond Blanc was looking for a beer to match some stunning craft produced English and French cheeses it was Hook Norton's Old Hooky he chose.
The pairing took place at a Real Beer Dinner which took place at the two Michelin Star restaurant and hotel in Great Milton, Oxfordshire. Raymond Blanc is the star of BBC Two's Show The Restaurant and is also widely acknowledged as Britain's most celebrated restaurateur.
Raymond Blanc said: "I love to create menus which work in harmony with beer. There is a food revolution taking place taking place in England, with some wonderful locally brewed beers and craft cheeses being produced." Hook Norton's Managing Director James Clarke said: " Old Hooky is a beautifully balanced beer. Fruity by nature, it is made with pale and crystal malt and has a sensational hoppy aroma and taste, which gives way to a sweet, lingering finish.
"Old Hooky, is available on draught in pubs, or in supermarkets in a stunning tall slim-line bottle, designed to stand out on a shelf it will look even better on dining tables at home as it is a perfect accompaniment to food." Old Hooky is proving to be a firm favourite not just with Raymond Blanc but with supermarket shoppers across the country.
Old Hooky is one of the country's best known pub beers and is now nationally available in ASDA, Sainsbury and Tesco stores in 500ml bottles. Old Hooky, at 4.6 per cent ABV, is also on sale in Waitrose and Budgens in the Oxfordshire area.
