Welcome the New Year with Hooky’s Double Stout
January will see the return to pubs of Hook Norton’s Double Stout. A craft brewed beer – it is the first in Hook Norton’s Brewers Selection range of 11 beers, which will be available throughout the year.
Hook Norton Managing Director James Clarke says Double Stout’s recipe might be a hundred years old, but its taste and flavour is modern and fashionable. Hook Norton Double Stout recently won gold in the prestigious International Beer Challenge, making it one of the best beers in the world.
The 4.8 percent ABV beer is a smooth, full-bodied stout with a refreshing hoppy aftertaste. A blend of dark malts gives Double Stout a character all of its own. “Black malt enriches the colour and teases the palate with an unmistakable toast flavour,” said James. Brown malt gives the beer its satisfying dryness.
Double Stout is available in pubs until the end of February and in bottles all year round.
Drawing on its 150 years of brewing heritage Hook Norton Brewers Selection is a spectacular list of beers which will be sold alongside the brewery’s regular brews.
In March look out for First Light, a very pale, light brew with a complex hop aroma. And April sees the return of 303AD – brewed to celebrate the death of England’s St George.
